On May 3, the parish of Paul do Mar will host the 2nd edition of the “Calheta SoundsCool” festival, a World Music Festival organized by the Calheta Municipal Council, which will bring together international and national artists in a celebration of different musical styles, namely samba, salsa, reggae and funaná. At 6 pm, the Coletiva Gira band will be the first to appear on stage, featuring the rhythms of Brazil; followed by the Tremenda Sonora band, presenting a unique fusion of salsa and Latin rhythms. At 9.30 pm, the Upraising Reggae Band will be paying tribute to Bob Marley, while the closing performance of the festival is reserved for Ferro Gaita band, featuring genuine funaná sounds from Cape Verde.
